We aim to create a supportive environment where individuals with developmental disabilities can live as independently as possible.

Our Mission

The mission of High Country Supported Living (HCSL) is to create a community living and learning center for New Mexicans of all abilities, where culture, art, land and diversity are celebrated. Through its property in northern New Mexico, HCSL provides a beautiful physical setting where disabled and non-disabled members of the surrounding communities can come together to grow, learn and share.

HCSL creates an environment where individuals with developmental disabilities can live as independently as possible, with their own customized living supports, funded by the Medicaid Mi Via Waiver program.  Individuals who are not on the Waiver but have the capacity to pay with private funds are welcome/eligible to live on HCSL’s property in Jacona – a small rural community located approximately 20 miles north of Santa Fe.

Parents, guardians and family members are encouraged to work with their loved ones to set up supports/service models that help them function as independently and safely as possible.  For residents who need constant care, family members and/or support staff have the opportunity to closely assist their loved ones.
